About the role:

As an Assistant Manager you will lead and manage a team of Senior Information Officers who are working in a newly established Inter-Agency Information Sharing Service. The service is responsible for responding to Family Violence and Child Information Sharing requests for information to a wide range of Information Sharing Agencies who are working in the family violence and child protection sector. The Service also manages the Reportable Conduct and National Redress Schemes on behalf of Victoria Police.    

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage and lead a team responsible for the release of sensitive information;
  • Provide specialist advice to the Manager in relation to the implementation of necessary policies and procedures to meet service level requirements;
  • Manage and forecast caseload effectively  to ensure workload is distributed evenly across the team and requests for information are  turned around in a timely manner;
  • Provide quality assurance and risk management across all aspects of the Information Sharing Service; 
  • Liaise professionally with external and internal stakeholders and customers.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in leading and managing staff, interpreting and applying legislation and policy with a positive customer service experience;
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written including the ability to negotiate and problem solve effectively with employees and stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to identify, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department.
