Position Details

About the role:
Conduct risk assessments of Registered Sex Offenders in line with best-practice guidelines through the review of summary of charges and relevant brief/sentencing information, registration details, etc.

  • 1 X Full Time Ongoing
  • 1 X Fixed Term until 30/11/2019

Your duties will include:

  • Static and Dynamic risk assessments
  • Contribute to the accurate data collection and analysis for the evaluation of Victoria Police Sex Offender risk assessment framework and other strategic priority areas using a variety of computer systems (internal and external), applications and databases.
  • Effectively liaise with compliance managers, key stakeholders regarding matters impacting on the management of registered sex offenders while ensuring strict constraints on disclosure of information.
  • Provide advice/recommendations in relation to applications for: international travel, exemptions and suspension

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Knowledge/experience in risk assessments for offender management.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing a variety of highly confidential information.
  • Well-developed analytical and written communications skills to prepare a range of reports and correspondence
  • Ability to provide sound advice within strict legislative requirements and confidentiality constraints.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the related field of criminology, criminal justice, criminal intelligence or psychology are highly desirable.
  • Prior offender management experience is highly desirable.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
