About the role:
The aim of a Victoria Police RPAS Unit is to harness the new RPAS (Drone) and Counter RPAS (Drone) technologies to enhance Victoria Police service delivery, improve efficiency in deployment of police to incidents and delivery of specialist functions.
“The mission of the Remote Piloted Aircraft & Systems Unit is to enhance community safety through the management and coordination of Victoria Police's Remote Pilots and the provision of specialist Drone and Counter Drone Capability.”
This position is a Senior Administration role within the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Unit. This role is in support of the entire capability through assisting with governance and compliance, reporting, procurement, logistics, public and internal/external stakeholder interactions.
The role will also provide additional support to the Airwing Administration team as required.

Your duties will include:
- Provision of administration support to the RPAS members and PAW as required.
- Undertake procurement of specialist equipment and training activities.
- Capture and analyse data in support of reporting and strategic project requirements of the unit/s.
- Engage with stakeholders both internal and external.
- Attend and facilitate meetings and represent the unit in discussions with key stakeholders.
- Responsibility of the Tasking and Co-ordination process.
- Obtaining of a remote pilots licence.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Understanding of Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (Desirable)
- Advanced computing skills (Desirable)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work in a small team environment.
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent understanding of government procurement practices
- Negative Vetting Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Further Information:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at the Police Airwing 12 Global Avenue, Essendon Fields Victoria.
- This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
