Victoria Police is seeking the skills of an outstanding HR Specialist - Recruitment Design and Talent Acquisition to help us modernise our internal transfer and promotion processes and ensure we are delivering recruitment processes that reflect contemporary best practice.

About the role:

As the HR Specialist - Recruitment Design and Talent Acquisition you will work within the Recruitment and Deployment Division of the Human Resource Command.  Using your exceptional communication, relationship management skills and strategic recruitment and assessment knowledge, you will design, develop and work to implement a suite of internal recruitment products to support the organisation in identifying, engaging and retaining its top talent.

You will engage in both consultative and responsive approaches to manage the internal recruitment and promotion needs for Victoria Police and will engage closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure buy in and confidence that the recruitment tools are designed in line with Victoria Police's strategic direction. 

This fantastic opportunity will allow you to contribute strategically and operationally to the sourcing, attraction and retention of quality talent for Victoria Police's senior leadership positions.

Your duties will include:

  • Developing, designing and implementing new recruitment and selection tools that reflect current recruitment trends and industry best practice.
  • Mapping senior leadership role requirements to enable the design and development of effective and tailored recruitment products.
  • Working with key stakeholders and your fellow HR professionals to design and develop written and practical assessment tools for recruitment to internal positions.
  • Collaborating and consulting with a highly talented team of human resource professionals and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Preparing quality reports, presentations and briefings for a wide audience on the implementation of these assessment tools.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Qualifications in the field of human resource management, organisational psychology, organisational design, learning and development or behavioural science would be highly desired.
  • Experience working with clients to design, develop and implement tools that will support large scale recruitment activities and assessment centres.
  • Demonstrated experience handling recruitment to a high volume of positions while managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare quality reports and briefings for a wide audience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a relevant recruitment and attraction field.
  • Be self-starting and able to develop your own creative ideas and solutions.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term position available for twelve (12) months.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
