Position Details

Clinical Nurse Educator

 Operating Suite

Permanent Full-time

 

Applications are invited from dynamic registered nurses with extensive clinical experience and commitment to education for the role of Clinical Nurse Educator for the Operating Suite.

The successful applicant will provide professional practice and workplace clinical support to the Operating Suite staff. Major components of the position include supporting the NUM in the development and maintenance of care standards by providing strong leadership with an education focus; supporting the transition of new graduates, undergraduate and other nursing staff to the clinical environment by supporting action learning in the clinical setting; and assisting staff to achieve mandatory training requirements, clinical competencies and enhancing clinical skills through a range of educational strategies.

 

The position is ideally suited to someone with a commitment to the professional development of clinicians and the translation of learning to promote high quality patient centred care. 

 

Core Selection Criteria we are looking for are:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
  • Tertiary qualification in Education of Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (or willingness to work towards).
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skill in practice area.
  • Demonstrated clinical education skills with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of Quality improvement with the ability to develop and implement initiatives of continuous quality improvement; Staff development and Practice Development Principles; and Research to inform Best Practice.
  • Computer Literate.

 

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the NSW Public Health System Nurses’ and Midwives’ (State) Award.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.
