Manager, Financial Accounting – HS8

Permanent/Full time


Albury Wodonga Health requires a Manager, Financial Accounting to lead our financial accounting team.  


The Manager, Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for financial accounting and reporting including maintenance of a sound financial control environment. This includes an effective and efficient policy, procedure and organizational practice framework to facilitate accurate and timely internal and external reporting that meets legislative and regulatory obligations and supports sound business decision making and enhances services delivery.


Primary responsibilities of this role include

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to a team of accountants to ensure resource planning and management is effective, efficient and responsive to the needs of AWH
  • Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet taxation compliance requirements, including Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Pay As You Go (PAYG),
  • Continuously improve financial systems and processes relating to the consolidated financial reporting for AWH, maintenance of sound financial controls, including reconciliation procedures, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data contained in financial reporting systems, daily cash management, maintenance of the asset register and grant revenue recognition

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • High level experience as a finance manager with capacity to lead change across a diverse team in a large and complex organization
  • High level computer literacy including well developed skills in the use of Oracle Financials and Microsoft Office products (including Excel and Word)
  • Post graduate accounting qualification, e.g. CPA or CA


Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Health & Allied Services, Managers & Administrative Workers enterprise agreement 2016-2020.


Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.


Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.


This is a Category B position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
