Community Paediatric Fellow

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract

2018 Clinical Year

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking an Advanced Trainee in Community Child Health or General Paediatrics to join our team at Albury Community Health Centre in providing quality care to patients.

Our community health centre consists of a team of paediatric speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dieticians, audiologist, child protection counsellors and child and family health nurses who will refer patients to you for paediatric opinion. You will be supervised by a Consultant Paediatrician in Community Child Health and will join the wider paediatric team in clinical meetings.

This opportunity will give the candidate a breadth of experience in community paediatrics with a focus on developmental, behavioural paediatrics, multidisciplinary developmental assessments and working with vulnerable children and families. The candidate will gain a strong understanding of the variety of early intervention, health, social and education services available for young children in a regional area and will have opportunities to visit local services. Clinical provision to the local Aboriginal Medical service and Child and Adolescent Mental Health service can also be arranged as well as teaching of UNSW medical students.

Professional development at relevant courses on developmental assessment as well as paediatric conferences is encouraged. Attendance at weekly seminars as part of the Community Child Health Program of Excellence is available.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate paperwork for AWH to meet its credentialing obligations. This job is accredited for Community Child Health and General Paediatric training time through the RACP and is available to candidates in these training programs.
