ALBURY WODONGA HEALTH – Cross-Campus

Accounts Receivable Officer – Debt Collector

Permanent Part-time – 40 Hours per Fortnight  

 

Albury Wodonga Health requires a Permanent Part-Time Accounts Receivable Officer – Debt Collector to join our Revenue Services Team.  The successful candidate will be a dedicated resource to work within the Accounts Receivable (AR) Department to support the organisation's Debt Recovery Process, with particular emphasis on the collection, monitoring and reporting of outstanding invoices. 

 

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and follow up debtor accounts raised across the health service in accordance with the AWH Debtor Management Procedures in a regular, timely manner to maximise collections.
  • Prepare end of month debtors listings for debt collection
  • Field debtor queries and liaise with customers.
  • Assist with month end reporting
  • Contribute to the achievement of organisational financial KPI's with particular emphasis on those specifically related to the Accounts Receivable Department.
  • Provide excellent and professional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader and other members of the Accounts Receivable Team, Admissions and Patient Liaison Officers to provide support and feedback around identified billing requirements to assist with timely payment.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Extensive previous experience in an accounts receivable role working with Debtors.
  • Extensive experience in a Debt Collection role with considerable knowledge of the principles and guidelines associated with the Debt Collection Cycle.
  • An understanding of basic accounting principles and demonstrated previous experience using a large integrated financial management system or demonstrated proven ability to adapt to new ICT applications.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated use of MS Office with high level skills in the use of excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a Health Care setting with a knowledge of patient classifications and dealing with Private Health Insurance and other 3rd Party customers would be desirable, but not mandatory.

 

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Health Sector (Health Professionals, Health and Allied Services, Managers & Administrative Officers) Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.
