Older Persons

0.8 FTE Permanent

 

Albury Wodonga Health requires a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Older Persons to join our team at Wodonga and Albury Hospitals.

 

Working under the auspices of ‘Improving care for older people' - A policy for Health Services, the primary responsibilities of this role are for the provision of expert person-centred consultancy practice participating in the provision of direct patient care for Older Persons. This will encompass using ‘Best care for older people everywhere – the toolkit' and applying this in the context of the acute hospital setting in order to prevent and minimise problems associated with hospitalisation.

 

In addition the role will provide leadership in the care of Older Persons and demonstrate initiative and leadership in regards to professional Nursing practice.

 

The role will also work to identify, develop, apply and evaluate continuous quality improvement and risk management in the care of Older Persons.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

 

  • Registered with APHRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1.
  • At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience within the specialty or related streams.
  • Has approved Post-graduate qualifications relevant to the field of specialty (or working toward same).
  • Demonstrated advanced level of clinical nursing expertise in the care of Older Persons.

 

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

 

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
