Social Worker - Grade 1/2

Wodonga Acute Team

(0.2 FTE) Fixed term part time  


Albury Wodonga Health – Wodonga Campus requires a Social Worker to join our Acute Team as a Social Worker covering all Wards at the Albury Base Hospital on Thursdays.  (0.2 FTE)

Primary responsibilities of this role:


  • Undertake comprehensive and evidence informed psycho social assessments.
  • Provide quality clinical service to for all patients referred to the Social Work Service for: crisis intervention, advocacy, and leadership in case management, family intervention and support, therapeutic intervention, comprehensive discharge planning and socio legal issues.
  • Provide all services in a culturally appropriate manner in areas of clinical responsibility.
  • Provide quality supervision, training and delegation for clinical and clinical support duties to AHA's.
  • To ensure evidence based practice protocols are implemented, updated and followed within their clinical area.
  • Adhere to Department of Health and Human Services and AWH procedure to maintain accurate, relevant and current documentation in client records.
  • Provide patient centred care planning within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in the clinical education program for masters and undergraduate Social Work students, AHA students and work experience students.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the NSW Health Service Health professionals (State).


Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.


Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.


This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
