Position Details

Graduate Nurse Program (Mental Health)

 

Fixed-Term Contract - 12 months /

Part-time 64 hours per fortnight

 

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) invites suitably qualified Registered Nurses wishing to pursue a career in Mental Health to apply for our 12 month Graduate Nurse Program in Mental Health.

Commencement date is February 2019.

AWH offers full orientation and training, salary sacrifice and the opportunity to be a part of a supportive and friendly team within a growing organisation.

You will be given the opportunity to gain mental health nursing experience within a supported clinical environment, while augmenting your theoretical knowledge through attendance at the North East Victorian Innovative Learning, Training and Professional Development Cluster (NEVIL) study blocks in Melbourne. Successful completion of all clinical and academic requirements of the program will allow you to gain credits towards post graduate mental health nursing qualifications through specific institutions.

Successful applicants will work across the Albury, Wodonga and Wangaratta campuses gaining exposure in a variety of mental health clinical experiences including acute inpatient and community.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2016 - 2020.

Requirements for entry

Candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria to be eligible to apply:

  • AHPRA registration prior to commencement
  • Completion of the undergraduate course within the previous 12 months
  • Not currently in a graduate program
  • Registered with Computer Match

 

Entry to the Graduate Program (Mental Health) is via the Victorian Nursing Computer Match System. You must register online for a computer match account prior to submitting your preferences. To access these services, go to www.computermatching.pmcv.com.au. Applicants will not be considered unless they participate in this system

 

  • The Computer Match process commences June 4th 2018, with the applicant entering their priority list online. Electronic applications will be received by AWH between June 4th and July 20th, 2018

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
