Exercise Physiologist

Ambulatory Rehabilitation – Wodonga Campus

 12 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Relief)

48 hours per fortnight 

 

Applications are invited from suitably experienced Exercise Physiologist to join the dynamic team in our Ambulatory Rehabilitation Program. Ambulatory Rehabilitation is part of the Health Independence Programs suite of services. The position is well supported professionally by the physiotherapy therapy department.

 

The Ambulatory Rehabilitation team has three exercise physiology positions as part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of allied health assistants, dietitians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and speech pathologists.

 

The service provides rehabilitation for clients following a change to their functional status. Interdisciplinary therapy is provided to enable clients to achieve their functional goals within a time limited rehabilitation program.   The service aims to enable people to live the life they want, in their community, with optimised health. Care can be provided in the home or centre, based on an evaluation of the most appropriate setting for the individual's needs.

 

This position is ideally suited to someone who has a strong interest and experience in the areas of in gerontology, falls prevention, chronic disease, pain and traumatic brain injury and a genuine interest in developing their career in community based rehabilitation.

 

Candidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Experience in the provision of exercise physiology to outpatients at a Senior (Grade 2) level of expertise.
  • Experience in the supervision of AHA(s) and undergraduate or post graduate Exercise physiology students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a multi / interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Well-developed time management, problem solving and decision making skills in order to complete tasks in designated timeframes.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the (VIC) Allied Health Professionals Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020.
