Activity Officer - TC2 Activity Officer

80 hours per fortnight

Full-time permanent position

 

Albury Wodonga Health – Blackwood Cottages at Beechworth requires an Activity Officer to join our Residential Program, providing individualised lifestyle and leisure support for 15 residents.

 

Primary responsibilities of this role: The NEBMHS provides a public mental health service to people who reside in the rural city of Wodonga and the local government areas of Indigo, Towong and Alpine Shires.

 

This position is located at The Blackwood Beechworth Campus and provides support to people by applying recovery principles in all interactions, practices and documentation so that the response is individualised and enables self-determination and personal recovery. Within the setting of a multidisciplinary team and a recovery orientated framework, provide a high standard of clinical practice, assessment and intervention. This includes actively participating in preventive and early intervention programs, and a range of treatment modalities.

 

The primary role of the incumbent is to model, facilitate and implement client centred, professional practice.

 

The incumbent is also expected to actively contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of services provided by NEBMHS.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage change.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate individuals and groups to achieve commonly held goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback and support others.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2016 - 2020.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

 

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement. 

 

Category A staff have direct contact with blood or body substance. This category includes all persons who have physical contact with, or potential exposure to, blood or body substances or infectious material or surfaces / equipment that might contain these or contact that would allow acquisition and/or transmission of a specified infectious disease by respiratory means.
