Kids Early Action Programme in Schools (KEAPS) Clinician

Allied Health Grade 2 or Registered Nurse Grade 3

Multiple Postions Available

Permanent Part time (0.6 FTE) & Fixed term part time (0.8 FTE)

 

 

Albury Wodonga Health – NECAMHS WODONGA requires 2 experienced clinicians to join our Kids Early Action Programme in Schools (KEAPS) team. KEAPS is an early intervention program targeting children in Foundation to Grade 3 who are identified as experiencing social and emotional difficulties. We are looking for enthusiastic professionals (Psychiatric Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, or Occupational Therapists) to join our supportive and exciting team. 

 

The clinicians will be working within the setting of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a high standard of practice in the provision and evaluation of school based early intervention behaviour and socialisation programs for children in primary schools. Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Kids Early Action Program (KEAPS) Clinicians will collaborate with various schools to develop and deliver services which ensure the consistent early detection, treatment and prevention of emerging severe behaviour difficulties in early primary school age children. (Foundation – Grade 3).

 

These positions are expected to actively contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of the services provided by the North East Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (NECAMHS) as a whole.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

 

  • Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Social Worker eligible for membership with the AASW.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a health professional which is part of a multidisciplinary team within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health and school settings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in the delivery of behaviour change theories and practices in evidence based treatment programs for children. 
  • Demonstrated clinical experience working with children and their families in a CAMHS, health or welfare setting, including other relevant training or experience, eg: psychodynamic group therapy, family therapy, Tuning Into Kids, Exploring Together programs, etc
  • Demonstrated experience in running groups with children and/or adults.

 

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise agreement 2016 – 2020.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

 

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
