Associate Nurse Unit Manager - NP34

0.5 FTE Permanent Position


Albury Wodonga Health – Blackwood Cottages requires an ANUM to join our Older Persons Mental Health Residential Program.

Primary responsibilities of this role The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM):

  • Supports the Nurse Manager (NM) in the development and maintenance of care standards by providing strong leadership and role modelling by ensuring a high standard of service provision.
  • Is responsible for a specific patient / client population and is able to function in complex situations while providing support and direction to all members of the nursing team and other support personnel.
  • Is part of the Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) health care team and utilises the practice of nursing to deliver or direct patient care in any practice setting, addressing the functions and obligations of work that reflect evidence based practice guidelines and standards for professional individuals.
  • Provides clinical and administrative management of the unit in the absence of the NM and on a shift by shift basis.
  • Is accountable for designated management projects / portfolios with key performance outcomes.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian public mental health services enterprise agreement 2016-2020


Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.


Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.


This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.

This category includes all persons who have physical contact with, or potential exposure to, blood or body substances or infectious material or surfaces / equipment that might contain these or contact that would allow acquisition and/or transmission of a specified infectious disease by respiratory means.
