Nurse Unit Manager – RPN 45

Permanent Full-time

 

Albury Wodonga Health – Benambra Rehabilitation and Recovery Service requires a Nurse Unit Manager to join our team. The purpose of this position is to provide effective management, leadership and clinical direction to the Benambra Rehabilitation and Recovery Service team, ensuring best practice following a recovery orientated framework. The primary role of the incumbent is to model, facilitate and implement recovery focused, multidisciplinary and professional practice ensuring consistency with clinical and program goals.

 

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Delegate and oversee as appropriate the staffing resources of the service including recruitment and induction, rostering and leave arrangements.
  • Provide decisive leadership and consultation with other team members in the identification and priority of an individual's needs for service and /or referral options.
  • Develop budgets and monitor expenditure across the program area.
  • Provide leadership in clinical and policy issues by leading accreditation and risk management strategies within the team.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Registered Nurse, registered or eligible for national registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with 3 or more years' experience working in mental health.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in mental health or working towards achieving same.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and ability in the provision of mental health assessment and treatment following recovery orientated practice guidelines.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and translate to service development.

 

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

 

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
