The Opportunity:

 

This position primarily provides support to people in a bed based service who suffer from a mental illness by assisting them through their recovery journey. The incumbent will be expected to work a rotating roster inclusive of nights and weekends. The primary role of the incumbent is assist clients obtaining their individual goals by applying recovery principles and working as a part of a multidisciplinary team. The incumbent is expected to model, facilitate and implement person centred professional practice ensuring consistency with clinical and program goals. The incumbent is also expected to actively contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of services provided by Albury Wodonga Health.

 

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications (min certificate iv) in mental health, psychology, social, work, occupational therapy or other health related fields as designated by AWH.
  • Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs and with their families and carers.
  • Willingness to disclose your lived experience of mental illness and recovery in an appropriate and purposeful   manner to support, empower and inspire hope to support the recovery of others
  • Engage a person's families and carers as appropriate and support them through the provision of education and referrals when required
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide services which are person centred; supports families and significant others and promotes the use of natural and community resources.

 

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services agreement.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

 

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
