Pharmacy Technician

 

Part Time - 16 hours per week - Fixed Term

Casual / Relief Positions – Multiple

 

 

Albury Wodonga Health invites applications from enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our busy Pharmacy team.

 

The position consists of clerical/computing skills including stock control within the Pharmacy, stocking of imprests on the Wards, generation, and placement and receipting of orders, passing of invoices for payment, expiry stock management and maintenance, updating of database files and re-packaging of medications. The position also includes working in the dispensary and making up aseptic products under the direction of the pharmacist.

 

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Completed, or prepared to undertake, an approved Hospital Pharmacy Technician course (Cert 3 or cert 4) by the Pharmacy Board of Australia;
  • Basic knowledge of drug names and products (generic name and trade name familiarity);
  • Previous Pharmacy experience / ordering / stock control;
  • Computer skills and previous experience with database, word and spreadsheet applications;
  • Customer service focus.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the following awards

  • 16 hours per week – Victorian Public Health Sector – Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Enterprise Agreement
  • Casual / Relief Position - NSW Health Employee (State) Award

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.
