Project Lead – Inpatient Subacute Services

16 hours per week/Temporary position


Albury Wodonga Health requires an allied health or nursing professional to join our Inpatient Subacute Services Team to lead the development, introduction and evaluation of an Enriched Environment to our inpatient setting. The successful applicant will have extensive clinical experience in rehabilitation including experience in leading quality improvement initiatives.

The primary responsibilities of the role are to:

1. Translation of best practice evidence to policy and practice to drive an enriched rehabilitation environment.

2. Understand the organisation's falls and neuro cognitive impairment risks and adopt risk mitigation strategies suitable to the admitted subacute environment.

3. Communication with clinical staff and clinical governance committees to influence compliance with best practice guidelines and risk mitigation strategies for high risk patients. 

4. Use of clinical informatics to measure performance, trends and project outcomes.

5. Engagement of patients, families and staff in risk reduction activities.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a RN or an Allied Health professional.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 5 years full time equivalent (FTE) clinical experience as a RN of which at least three years FTE is in a relevant speciality area in an advanced practice role.
  • Tertiary  qualifications at a Masters Level (or working towards same).

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Nurse and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.


Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
