Albury Wodonga Health is offering a twelve month Graduate Program to suitably qualified Double Degree Bachelor of Nursing / Bachelor of Midwifery Graduates.  The program is designed to support the newly-qualified Registered Nurse/ Registered Midwife in their transition from student to practitioner. 

You will be given the opportunity to gain Midwifery experience, Special Care Nursery and Women's surgical experience in a supported environment, while improving your theoretical knowledge through attendance at study days and hospital education sessions.

The Maternity Unit includes the Antenatal/Postnatal ward, Birth Suite, and Special Care Nursery. AWH Maternity Unit has on average 1650 deliveries annually and as Special Care Nursery that cares for babies from 32 weeks gestation and above.

 

Requirements for entry

AHPRA registration prior to commencement, completion of course within previous twelve months and not currently in a graduate program.

Entry to the Graduate Nurse Program is via the Victorian Computer Match system. Applicants will NOT be considered unless they participate in this system.

 

Commencement

17th February 2020 with a twelve month contract. Employment following the program will be subject to performance assessment and staff vacancies.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Nurses (Victorian Public Health Sector) Multiple Business Agreement 2016-2020.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia). Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.
