Position Details

Albury & Wodonga Hospital Campuses 

Speech Pathologist – Grade 2

Permanent Part-time (20 hours per week)

Albury Wodonga Health requires a Speech Pathologist to join our admitted Speech Pathology team. The successful applicant will work across the admitted services of Albury & Wodonga hospital campuses delivering clinical care to the admitted patient caseloads. 

The admitted caseloads are managed by the Speech Pathology team using a clinical rotations model.  Rotations are generally 6-12months in duration & include- general & ENT surgical, children's ward & ICU, Border Cancer hospital; inpatient rehabilitation; medical & emergency & special care nursery; geriatric evaluation & management unit (GEM).

The successful applicant will participate in the Speech Pathology weekend roster & public holiday roster for both hospital campuses.

Current competency in the areas of videofluroscopy of swallow, head & neck oncology, paediatric dysphagia or dysphagia & communication with tracheostomy will be considered favourably.

Primary responsibilities of this role are to work within the multidisciplinary & interdisciplinary models of care across specific hospital wards/units to provide best practice assessment, interventions & handover of care for our admitted patients.

  • Bachelor or Masters of Speech Pathology
  • Eligibility for practicing membership with Speech Pathology Association Australia
  • Current drivers licence

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Allied Health Professionals award.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
