Permanent Full-time Position


Applications are invited from dynamic registered nurses with extensive clinical experience and leadership skills for the Wodonga Campus Perioperative Nurse Manager.


The successful applicant will lead and manage the perioperative suite to achieve best practice outcomes for key stakeholders – patients, staff, families, doctors, hospital and broader community. Focus is on achieving excellence within the perioperative service, as evidenced by high standards of nursing practice and patient centred care, effective stewardship of resources, commitment to developing clinical teams, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.


Major components of the position include working in conjunction daily with the perioperative team to provide safe and effective care throughout the Perioperative Suite, working with other department NUM/NMs on both sites, working with the Perioperative Nurse Manager in the development and maintenance of care standards, investigation & management of clinical risk, and reporting KPI's campus.


The Nurse Manager will be required to have excellent communication & time management skills. The position is ideally suited to someone with a commitment and passion to the high level of care for patients journeying through the Perioperative Service.


Core Selection Criteria we are looking for are:

  • ·         Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • ·         Minimum five years post graduate relevant Nursing experience in perioperative nursing.
  • ·         Post graduate diploma or certificate in relevant Perioperative area.
  • ·         High level operational and management experience within the health care setting with a proven ability to think strategically and execute objectives into tangible outcomes.
  • ·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • ·         Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • ·         Demonstrated ability to organise and motivate staff.
  • ·         Demonstrated ability to foster productive interpersonal relationships.



  • ·         Demonstrated ability to align clinical practice to the National standards and achieve ACHS EQuIP Accreditation status.
  • ·         Demonstrated record of success in recruiting, training and developing a nursing workforce.
  • ·         Demonstrated ability for adaptability and flexibility in practice in an environment of change.
  • ·         Ability to utilise Information Technology to enhance practice.


Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the NSW Nurses Association Award (Public).
