The Older Persons Mental Health Service is seeking a Registered Nurse/ Social Worker/ Occupational Therapist with experience in Mental Health to work with the Team. The position is based Albury but may include travel to other areas across catchment area within Southern NSW. 

The Older Persons Mental Health Service, as part of Albury Wodonga Health, provides community based psychiatric assessment and treatment to persons over the age of 65 years living in North East Victoria/Southern NSW.  The Service provides psychiatric assessment and treatment.  Where in-patient treatment is necessary this may be facilitated by the Service. All treatment is provided in collaboration with the treating GP and other health and aged care service providers

The duties will include comprehensive psychiatric assessment of persons who have been referred to the Service and implementation of appropriate treatment strategies in consultation with the Consultant Psychiatrist and the Team. Family and carers will be involved in assessment and care planning wherever possible.

Applicants with limited Mental Health experience, but with a strong interest in working with older persons will be considered.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Health Services Award.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.
