Unaccredited Paediatric Registrar

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract

2020 Clinical Year 

An opportunity exists for an appointment for an unaccredited paediatric with the role being ideally suited to a PGY3+ doctor who is looking to consolidate their skills prior to entering a training program.

The department is vibrant and supportive and the successful applicant will have a busy paediatric workload with a wide range of presentations. It would be expected that significant experience can be achieved in during the clinical year.

Albury Wodonga has one of Australia's largest inland populations and provides all the facilities of a provisional city combined with a relaxed lifestyle.  The catchment population for Obstetrics & Gynaecology is 250,000.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

As an unaccredited Paediatric Registrar within the Paediatric Unit you will have significant responsibility and a complex role. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • To support the provision of paediatric care to public patients admitted to Albury Wodonga Health;
  • To support the Special Care Nursery;
  • To assist medical practitioners in the Emergency Department provide care to non-admitted patients requiring paediatric opinion/review;
  • To participate in clinical research and teaching program
