The Positions

We are offering some outstanding opportunities for several Registrar positions in the Emergency Department. These are accredited training posts as follows:

  • Emergency Medicine Registrars– Advanced Trainees (early and late phase) or Provisional Trainees of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
  • General Practice Registrars – Rural Generalist GP Registrars following either the Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice/Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice (FRACGP/FARGP) pathways and undertaking the Emergency Medicine Diploma (EMD)

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is a major regional health service supporting a population catchment of 250,000 and encompassing two acute hospital sites, Albury Hospital and Wodonga Hospital.


The Person

We encourage applicants who have been accepted into either the ACEM or AGPT Programs and have a long-term goal of regionally based specialist or general practice. A good understanding of the unique demands of rural/regional health will be highly regarded.


Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate paperwork for AWH to satisfy credentialing obligations.


The Department

Albury Wodonga Health is Australia's only cross-border health service and the Emergency Department operates over two campuses, has over 67,000 attendance per year, is a major trauma centre and averages 30% paediatric presentations.


AWH has a catchment of 250,000 and our Emergency Department provides services for the entire area from two locations in Albury and Wodonga. Over 140 consultants provide support in a wide range of specialties.


The Region

The twin cities of Albury Wodonga form a vibrant provincial city of over 100,000 straddling the spectacular Murray River which geographically divides the two cities. Albury is located on the north side of the river in NSW and Wodonga on the south side of the Murray in Victoria.
