Registered Nurses – Mental Health RN2

Full time permanent positions

Albury Wodonga Health – Wangaratta Campus requires Registered Nurses to join our nursing team on the Kerferd Unit.  The position sits within the multi-disciplinary team and utilises the practice of nursing to deliver patient centred care within a busy and dynamic environment.

Primary responsibilities of this role include the delivery of high quality care within the in-patient setting. The nurse will employ well-developed skills in the areas of assessment, problem solving, care planning and patient advocacy.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Current APHRA registration
  • Demonstrates a knowledge and capacity to work within relevant legislative frameworks including the NHA and other relevant acts.
  • Demonstrates capacity to deliver care within the frameworks of the Safewards approach and the Recovery Model.
  • Demonstrates a person centred approach to decision making and care planning activities
  • Ability to work as a team member within the multi-disciplinary environment
  • Is able to describe and demonstrate the utilisation of evidence based practice within own practice
  • Understanding of WHS legislation as it relates to employees' responsibilities
  • An ability to describe clinical governance as it pertains to nursing

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services EBA.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

This is a Category A position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
