 Cleaning

Casual Positions  

  

Albury Wodonga Health – Albury and Wodonga campuses have Vacant Casual positions in the department and requires suitable candidates to join Environmental services.

Cleaners within Environmental Services are responsible for the cleaning and servicing of assigned areas in the health environment and includes waste disposal and linen services.

This positions are required to work in Environmental Services on the Albury or Wodonga  Campus on a rotational roster which includes weekends, public holiday's, Day, evening and night shifts.   

Primary responsibilities of the role includes:  

  • Cleaning of Patient and non-patient areas on or off campus including restricted areas (isolation, emergency, theatre, Birth suite and Mental Health areas)
  • Cleaning to AWH Cleaning Standards and policies, DOHH Cleaning standards and Infection control Principles.
  • Waste Collection/transfer includes several waste streams including Clinical and sharps disposal. Working within the AWH Waste Management Plan and policy.
  • Linen delivery, restocking and soiled linen collection/transfer.
  • Provision of excellent Customer service

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

MANDATORY CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated High level knowledge of Cleaning Principles.
  • Ability to maintain a physically active routine.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Infection Control Principles.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Confirmed experience in a cleaning environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Confirmed knowledge and use of cleaning equipment.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Public Health (professionals, health and allied services, managers & administrative officers) 2016 - 2020

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

This is a Category A position. Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
