Position Details

ICT Applications Technician – HS4

Full Time – Permanent – 80 Hours Per Fortnight with ADO

Albury Wodonga Health requires an ICT Applications Technician to provide onsite and remote Level 2 ICT technical support for all staff within the AWH organisation, along with supporting ongoing projects and IT operational improvements. The position will be located primarily out of the Wodonga campus.

This role will have a focus on data management, collaboration and productivity technologies, application administration, and middleware. More generally, the expectation is that work undertaken will be in line with existing ICT level 2 staff and sound knowledge across all AWH systems is required in order to meet service standards, support the team culture, and also to perform the on-call function when rostered.

Primary responsibilities of this role:

  • Resolution of service requests to maintain existing systems and configurations in accordance with service delivery standards.
  • Implementation of design and configuration changes with potential to impact the availability, integrity, or security profile of the system or related systems;
  • Design and implement IT architectures for the sustainable, adaptable, efficient and cost-effective operation of all Clinical and Corporate Applications, including related data management, workflow, and reporting functions.
  • Design and implement reliable messaging solutions supporting the process and data requirements of both source and destination applications
  • Develop application installation processes, routine maintenance procedures, and standards; and improvements thereof.
  • Maintain, implement, and test schedules for the backup of applications to meet compliance and recovery objectives
  • Review change requests for consistency with Information Management Principles and standard IT operations
  • Develop and maintain excellent rapport, professional conduct, and communication with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call roster, encompassing both infrastructure and application issue resolutions;
  • Implement and promote AWH system access and privacy policies, and related security strategies and controls.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Industry certification of MCP/MCSE, or a Degree or Certificate IV in Information Technology or related field, OR demonstrated extended relevant experience in the field at the same technical level as the position that is described in this document (3 years or more experience).
  • Proven ability in the support of enterprise applications and the underlying network and server environments.
  • A high level of organisation, responsibility, self-motivation and personal commitment to high standards of customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in the administration and implementation of contemporary database management systems, particularly Microsoft SQL Server
  • Highly developed problem solving, analysis, and troubleshooting skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including excellent requirements analysis and documentation skills
  • Current Australian state issued driver's license or equivalent.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in ICT within the health industry.
  • Experience with HL7 / EDI / XML based integrations.
  • Experience with VMWare, Citrix Environments, Commvault, Office 365, Sharepoint, and Microsoft Exchange.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Victorian Government Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers Enterprise Agreement as a classification of HS4.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system upon commencement of employment.

This is a Category B position that does not require evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
