Position Details

About the role

Reporting directly to the Enrolment Registry Manager, the Enrolment Team Leader is focused on the performance and development of the Enrolment Registry Team's most important resource — the group of Enrolment Services Officers (ESOs).

Assisted by two Senior ESOs, the position provides coaching and advice on performance and quality, establishes workflows, monitors output, and works closely with the Enrolment Registry Manager and Enrolment Coordinator Group to set and implement the work plan for the Enrolment Registry Team.

Along with standard people management responsibilities, the role includes driving operational and procedural improvements and implementing a toolkit to coach performance improvement and learning and development within the Enrolment Registry Team.

About the team

The Enrolment Registry Team is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Victorian Register of Electors. This includes ensuring the accuracy, integrity, completeness and security of the Register of Electors in addition to providing assistance to the public to meet their enrolment obligations. The Enrolment Registry Team is also responsible for processing provisional and declaration votes received during electoral events.

What you'll bring to the role

We are looking for a strong people leader with an ability to motivate a team and support their wellbeing during busy periods. You have demonstrated experience in setting workplans and implementing process improvements for a team with a varying workload.

The successful applicant will also have:

  1. Demonstrated experience managing a team with a flexible and variable workload using business specific systems in a time-critical and compliance-focused environment.
  2. A high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to positively motivate staff for individual and team success.
  3. Proven expertise in the provision of high-quality advice and reporting to external and internal clients, colleagues and decision-makers.
  4. A demonstrated commitment to deliver continual operational improvements by collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
