Position Details

Senior Advisor, VPS Grade 5, Aboriginal Employment Unit (12 month fixed-term)

The Aboriginal Employment Unit is seeking an experienced program and projects officer to oversee the development and implementation of specific programs within the Barring Djinang Aboriginal Employment Strategy for the Victorian Public Sector. In particular, you will have lead responsibility for the rollout of the Aboriginal Vocational Education and Training Graduate Program and Aboriginal Future Leaders Program. You will also assist with the development of a new Public Entity Capacity Building Program.

This is a high-profile and challenging role within the Aboriginal Employment Unit that will give you experience working with a broad range of Victorian government departments and agencies, as well as Aboriginal community organisations. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of senior stakeholders and will directly influence the way in which Barring Djinang works to support Aboriginal employees across the Victorian Public Sector. As a senior member of the AEU you will provide strategic and operational support to the Manager, Aboriginal Employment Unit, as well as supporting other members of the AEU team.
