Position Details
MDHS services the Central Goldfields and Pyrenees Shire with campuses in Avoca, Dunolly and Maryborough. Nursing Pool Staff – Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
Permanent Part or Full Time – greater than 32 hours per fortnight
Classification: Dependent on qualifications and experience
Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020
This is exciting opportunity for experienced Registered and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses and Midwives to join our pool staff bank which will provide the opportunity to work across a range of clinical areas including:
- Acute ward including dialysis, oncology and maternity;
- Urgent Care Centre;
- Theatre/Day Surgery;
- Aged Care at Maryborough, Avoca and Dunolly
- Community/District Nursing

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA – Registered Nurse
Qualifications / Experience
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
Specialist Expertise
- Sound understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff at all levels within the organisation
- Ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of and involvement in evidence-based practice and research activities
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
Personal Qualities
- Excellent organisational skills particularly with respect to time management
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and computer skills at the level required to fulfil the role.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - Midwife
Qualifications / Experience
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a nurse and midwife
- Post registration experience in Midwifery.
- Current FSEP Level 2 or 3
- Evidence of recent neonatal resuscitation competency.

- Demonstrated ability to contribute and practise collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff at all levels within the organisation.
- Demonstrated written and computer skills at the level required to fulfil the role.
- Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice
