You will also assist the Program Manager to undertake strategic advocacy that promotes equality, particularly through law and policy reform. You will play a role in supervising, training and mentoring lawyers and team members, and assist in the development of strategies to improve client services relating to the Equality Law Program.

The 12-month role has a general focus on discrimination law, while the 3-year role is primarily focussed on the area of sexual harassment and the expansion of VLA's services to victim-survivors of sexual harassment in a manner that is client-centred, trauma-informed and responsive to experiences of intersectional discrimination.

About you:
You will have substantial knowledge and practical experience in civil law and relevant court and tribunal procedures, with extensive knowledge of equality, anti-discrimination and sexual harassment law.

Crucial to your success in this role will be your excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to form productive professional relationships and the ability to communicate effectively with clients from a range of lived experiences and backgrounds, and stakeholders at all levels. You will be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively to respond to the needs of clients. You will also demonstrate a commitment to promoting VLA's vision and values.
