Nurse Unit Manager – Avoca Campus, Aged Care

Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Classification: Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 (NM11)

Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024

We are looking for someone with a high level of leadership skills to step into the role of Nurse Unit Manager at Avoca Campus.  This is a management role in one or our three residential aged care sites. It is a fantastic leadership opportunity to work with a great team that is passionate about working in aged care and is fully accredited.  Our residents receive great care under the principles of Montessori. This program recognizes the importance of all relationships within the facilities and brings together residents, staff, families, significant others and volunteers by maintaining respectful partnerships, purposeful and meaningful engagement, choice, flexibility and enabling environments.

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with no restrictions
  2. Relevant Post Graduate qualifications in gerontology or working towards same would be highly regarded
  3. Expert level of competence with delivering and leading person centred care

Specialist Expertise

  1. Advanced clinical knowledge of physical and psychosocial assessment and care planning
  2. Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service and standards of care
  3. Demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care Standards and experience with accreditation processes
  4. Demonstrated understanding of the funding system in aged care including the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC).
  5. Ability to apply management principles in the complex adaptive system at work
  6. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and manage change within a complex healthcare environment

Personal Qualities

  1. Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation
  2. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  3. Self-motivated and a confident role model for the organisational values
