Mental Health Clinician - Regional Care Partnerships
Fixed Term – to commence ASAP until 30th June 2026
Part to Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight available
Classification: dependent on qualifications

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced individual to join the team at MDHS as a Mental Health Clinician. We are looking for an individual with experience in mental health, outreach and drug & alcohol. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of clinical services including but not limited to, assessments, care planning, therapeutic intervention, group work, discharge planning. Registered nurses with psychiatric qualifications, social workers, provisional psychologists, registered psychologists & occupational therapists with psychiatric experience are encouraged to appy for this position.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Experience:
- Demonstrate suitable clinical skills across the age spectrum, with some expertise of integrated care and treatment.
- Ability to provide treatment to specific age – desired extra qualifications and skills relevant to age bracket, not essential but desired
- Experience in providing MH and/or AOD interventions and short term or brief interventions or treatment
- Experience working in an environment with a focus on clients with complex needs
- Understanding of current mental health and alcohol and other drug system, and local service providers
- A strong understanding of and commitment to the social model of health
Interpersonal Skills:
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to successfully manage difficult situations
- Ability to achieve positive outcomes in a fast paced but flexible environment
- Previous experience with and a passion for inter-departmental collaboration and effective teamwork
Written Communication:
- Effective written communication skills which are clear and concise
- Desirable but not essential - ability to document relevant assessment tools, including provisional diagnosis and or formulate client information
- Excellent skills in documenting risk profiles, and management of these risks
- All of this above documentation to be completed in a contemporaneous manner
Computer Skills:
Strong knowledge of and ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite and Windows based programs and database management systems
- Ability to quickly adapt to the various different systems being utilised for the program
Organisational Skills:
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads and conflicting tasks and manage deadlines
- Strong ability to respond to demands in a timely manner, including client or family unplanned presentations
- Experience in active participation in multi-disciplinary team Meetings, including offering clinical guidance, mentoring and direction as or if needed

- Display ability to provide skills/ or secondary consultations across the organisation when requested
