Dental Assistant /Oral Health Educator
Permanent Part Time – 48 hours per fortnight
Classification: DY17 – DY18 dependent on qualifications and experience
Award: Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2025
An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Dental Assistant/Oral Health Educator to join the Dental Team at Maryborough District Health Service. In this role you will be responsible for providing Dental Assistance to clinicians and education to the community. The Dental Assistant / Oral Health Educator will be located at the Maryborough Campus. This position will work closely with Dentists, Dental Therapists, Oral Health Therapists, other Dental Assistants and Administration to ensure that members of the community have accessible, efficient, effective and respectful public dental services. The DA will also be responsible for administrative tasks and maintain all aspects of infection control. Apply now!

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience and well developed skills as a qualified, accredited Dental Assistant, or willingness to undertake training
- Experience with and/or an understanding of Infection Control and sterilisation standards within Dental practice.
- Understanding and experience of Dental radiography processes.

- Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake a broad range of clinical and non-clinical duties.
Personal Qualities
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to staff development, continuing education and quality improvement
