About the branch

The Commercial Directorate manages Parks Victoria's visitor based, revenue-generating activities at key regional and metropolitan sites across Victoria. It provides the strategies, specialist advice, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver core support services to enable Parks Victoria to be financially sustainable, high performing, and ensure our activities are aligned with strategic objectives.

The directorate maintains effective strategic level relationships to influence policy and legislation to provide an enabling environment as well as facilitating collaboration and championing continuous improvement at every opportunity. About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Team Leader (Asset and Grounds Maintenance), you will lead a team of staff to deliver high quality services in line with Commercial Division and South Gippsland District priorities under the direction of the Commercial Operations Manager.

You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of built assets, campgrounds and some essential services within Wilsons Promontory National Park. You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic, leading team members to maintain a high standard of personal accountability and compliance with the Code of Conduct. Your role is responsible for guiding the team, to inspire enthusiasm, to ensure their safety and welfare and to ensure they are appreciated for their efforts. You will be responsible for ‘hands on' people management which includes leading, managing and developing the team which may include ongoing employees, contractors, casuals, temporary staff and/or volunteers.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • A trade qualification relevant to the position is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in leadership, performance management and managing a team day to day.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and contractor supervision.
  • A current valid driver licence is essential.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required.
