The North East Link Project will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east.

About the opportunity

Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in the North East Link Project's Delivery Planning and Interface team.

We are seeking an Intelligent Transport Systems Specialist (ITS) to join our dynamic Engineering team at North East Link Authority. This role is a key interface position, collaborating with different teams to ensure all phases of the project are delivered within the designated scope. The position will be involved in the development and implementation of operation strategy to ensure that all facets of the project come together within the designated timeline.

This fantastic role relies on your technical expertise to:

  • Provide expert advice on transport systems engineering and operational aspects relating to the project design, procurement, delivery and commissioning.
  • Develop, implement and review ITS designs and testing across all phases of the project, including commissioning documents and supporting all test and commissioning activities.
  • Manage contracts, monitor contractor progress and effectively negotiate variations, claims and other issues.
  • Apply your understanding of new and emerging technologies and highlight the impact of technology on operational aspects of the project.

About you:

You are: 

  • An individual with extensive experience in ITS design development and transport technology strategies (preferably within the PPP environment), the management of procurement packages, systems testing and maintenance support across the ITS space.
  • Self-motivated, with a proven ability to proactively identify and respond to system issues, manage your time and prioritise workload.
  • A leader with high interpersonal acumen and an aptitude for providing professional guidance, direction and clarity in a team environment.
  • Well versed in digital engineering principles, asset management and maintenance practice (as well as CAPEX and OPEX estimate).
