About North East Link
North East Link is the biggest ever investment in Melbourne's north-east – changing the way people move around Melbourne. Victoria's longest road tunnels will fix the missing link in our city's freeway network, take 15,000 trucks off local roads a day and slash travel times by up to 35 minutes. We'll also complete the Ring Road in Greensborough, overhaul the Eastern Freeway, build Melbourne's first dedicated busway and the North East Trail – more than 34km of walking and cycling paths.
About the Opportunity
Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with one new Design Coordinator role available in the North East Link Program's Delivery Freeways!
As our Design Coordinator, you will play an integral role in the Design and Delivery of NELP's Northern Delivery Package. You will be embedded into the Package, working alongside the Freeways Design, Operations and Integration team as part of a multi-disciplinary team environment. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing and reviewing packages of work and the engineering components from a design perspective. You will be a subject matter expert, utilising your knowledge of AustRoads guidelines when providing high level technical advice to project team members and Design Managers.
Your foresight and ability to mitigate project risks from a design perspective will see you thrive in this role. Provide oversight of Alliance activities and collaborate with a team of project managers and wider project teams in a cross-functional environment to ensure that design considerations meet project needs.
It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all of our site offices (Heidelberg, Watsonia, Collingwood and/or Abbotsford). The Design Coordinator role will have a proposed commencement of mid May 2023 for the recommended candidate.
About You
You are:
- An experienced Design Coordinator with a tertiary qualification in engineering or science related discipline, you possess a breadth of experience in infrastructure design across road, drainage, and structures to inform project design outcomes.
- Knowledge of collaborating with project team members managers to produce design outcomes that meet time and cost requirements.
- Able to see the bigger picture and understand how different aspects of Design impact on overall project goals. Experience in utilising MicroStation, CAD and Digital Engineering software is favourable.
