About us

Lodden Prison is a facility located in central Victoria that accommodates male prisoners, mainly medium security and a small number of minimum security rated offenders.

About the Role

Senior Prison Officers take a lead role within custodial teams, coaching, mentoring and supporting prison officers. A senior prison officers' role encompasses a range of teamwork, case management, custodial and security responsibilities.

As a Senior Prison Officer, you will responsible for:

  • the day-to-day offender and accommodation management
  • managing the day-to-day operations and training of a team of Prison Officers
  • the case management of more complex or difficult offenders
  • preparing prisoner assessments and provide advice and recommendations to prison-based committees
  • working with a team of professionals to optimise the opportunities for rehabilitation.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • completed the Prison Officer Pre-Service Training
  • exceptional conflict management skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • the ability to effectively lead and manage a team.
