WorkSafe is relocating its headquarters to Geelong in 2018. This position will be based in the Geelong office from June 2018.  Prior to this date, this role will be based at 222 Exhibition Street.

The Finance Manager is accountable for the provision of a broad range of client focused financial services and leading a small team. You will be assigned a portfolio of clients which will vary based on organisational need. It may comprise specific business areas, projects or programs of work. The business areas could include related entities and collaborative initiatives serviced by WorkSafe Finance Team.

The Finance Manager will work closely with the members of the Executive and Senior Leadership in assisting them in making strategic and operational decisions through the provision of financial information, analysis and advice, and to understand financial results and statuses, and be their primary contact for finance related issues.

Skills and experience

  • Significant demonstrable experience in financial management and business partnering (including portfolio, program and projects) in a hands on capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and development of financial and reporting systems
  • People leadership and have successfully led small teams
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive business relationships at all levels of an organisation
  • Ability to work and influence across multiple entities and management structures
  • Understanding of project methodology and experience in project budget management
  • Proven ability to work within stringent timeframes and deliver high quality information
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement
  • Advanced Excel based financial modelling skills
