Coliban Region Water Corporation is based in Bendigo and is one of the largest Victorian regional urban water corporations. Our service area covers 16,550 square kilometres including 49 towns and is at the southern gateway to the Murray-Darling basin – Australia's food bowl. About the role

Instrumentation Technical Officer role is part of the Service and Infrastructure group and has a pivotal contribution to Coliban Water's success by being focussed on ensuring Coliban Water provides high quality customer services by efficiently and effectively managing water resources, water and wastewater systems, creating and managing infrastructure, oversight of our strategic partners and planning for long term growth and development of the region.

This position's primary focus is on field installation, maintenance and management of remote sensing equipment to monitor the performance our water, wastewater and recycled water networks.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Installation of field hardware to monitor the performance of a range of different assets
  • Development of management strategies to effectively manage field devices
  • Administration responsibilities including maintaining technical standards and procedures and managing projects

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Direct industry experience with current SCADA systems and instrumentation
  • Demonstrated understanding of Information Technology networks and associated infrastructure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively consult and negotiate with staff, customers and external organisations to achieve win/win outcomes

The salary classification and employment conditions for this position are in accordance with the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2017 Band 3. The pay range is $65 – $70K (Base) and a salary will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
