FULL TIME FIXED TERM until 30 December 2019
Location: Shepparton / Wangaratta

We have a great opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about helping others to achieve their education goals to join our Student Welfare team as the Team Leader Student Welfare.  The teams are located in Shepparton, Wangaratta, Benalla and Seymour and the role can operate from any of these campuses, however travel to other campuses will be required.

This position leads the Student Welfare team based across multiple work sites to provide effective student welfare services. The ability to lead staff to enhance and support students' participation, engagement and success in their studies.  The ability to provide professional support to students who have academic, physical and emotional needs is required, as is an ability to encourage the student to have independent study strategies.

As the successful candidate you will have:

• A Bachelor Degree level qualification in any of the following disciplines: social and community welfare, psychology, counselling or social work.
• A Diploma level base qualification and extensive industry experience in team leader or management in the co-ordination of welfare, mental health or counselling services and an understanding of the needs of students in educational settings.
• A proven ability to provide, coordinate and supervise services which include an application of contemporary theories of welfare, counselling and psychological practice, networking and building relationships relevant to an educational setting.
• A current National Police Check (Within 6 months)
• Working with Children Check (Employee)
• A current Drivers Licence is highly desirable.

Outstanding customer service and communication skills, along with a professional approach are essential.
