About us

The Loddon Mallee Region provides services at Justice Service Centres in Bendigo, Swan Hill and Mildura and at various outreach locations across the region. Loddon Mallee Region also has three prisons, two within the Loddon Prison Precinct which includes a medium risk facility (Loddon) and a restricted minimum facility (Middleton). The third, Tarrengower Prison, located at Maldon is a minimum risk women's facility.

About the role

Prison Industry Officers are responsible for the management and delivery of specific functions within the prison industry under the guidance of the Vocational Services Manager. The role requires leadership, maturity, sound judgement, confidence in decision making, with developed capabilities to coach, mentor and motivate prisoners. A Prison Industry office should possess highly developed communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.

Prison Industry Officers assist with the management of prisoner employment, safe operating procedures and other OH&S legislative requirements and compliance with prison industry procedures.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • good computer skills (familiar with Microsoft Office Suite)
  • qualifications or relevant experience in a food based industry
  • skills, knowledge or experience in Horticulture
  • successfully completed Pre Service Training.
