About the branch

The Regional Services Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves.  Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role

As the Area Chief Ranger you are responsible for all aspects of operations and resources within their geographic area of control in order to deliver cost effective, timely, quality and appropriate range of services to meet the requirements of the District Action Plan. You will contribute and assist in the development, implementation and review of District Operations to enable Parks Victoria to match service delivery with community and stakeholder needs to ensure optimum performance from the Area's human, financial and capital resources.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Leading and ensuring the co-operation for continual improvement of team performance.
  • Provide advice and information on the implementation of the District Action Plan with guidance from the District Manager, including information and advice to assist the District Operations Coordinator and Ranger Team Leaders with prioritisation of programs and projects within the Area Chief Rangers' geographic area of control.
  • Resolution or reference of all grievances and complaints in line with Parks Victoria's grievance and complaint handling procedures to minimise negative effects on employees and the organisation's operations.

 

 

To be successful for this role you need to have Demonstrated experience in engagement and stakeholder management, a qualification in Science or Business and extensive experience in leading and managing team performance.
