About the branch

The Regional Victoria Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action plan and the requirements of the Division's Statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves.  Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role

As the Ranger Team Leader you will lead a team of staff to deliver high quality services in line with the Regional Operations Plan, with support and under the direction of the Area or Functional Chief Ranger. You will work as a key member of the Area or Functional team in delivering on-ground services. You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic for team members to follow and ensure that District employees maintain a high standard of personal accountability and compliance with the Code of Conduct.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Community, stakeholder and visitor engagement - foster partnerships with local external parties
  • provide oversight of the provision of works for asset maintenance.
  • Manage day to day issues through informed decision making and in accordance with delegated authority and Parks Victoria policies and procedures.


To be successful for this role you need to have demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team, flexibility in workload management and strong customer service focus both internally and externally. Tertiary qualifications in science or equivalent is highly desirable.
