About the branch

The Regional Services Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services.  Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves.  Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:

In this challenging and exciting leadership opportunity, you'll provide leadership to the team and ensure the delivery of our action plan and development of the region.  As an Area Chief Ranger you will be responsible for all aspects of operations and resources within their geographic area of control in order to deliver a cost effective and quality range of services, whilst leading the Area team to ensure individual and divisional goals are achieved.  You will represent Parks Victoria to community, industry, and government groups to ensure a positive, professional image of Parks Victoria.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated high level judgement experience in analytical problem solving and decision making
  • Demonstrate an ability to lead a team which consistently and effectively delivers on its goals and objectives
  • Demonstrates a practical management of people, finances and other resources
