About the branch

The Regional Services Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

About the role

As the Planning Officer (Fire Ecology and Emergency) you will be responsible for the coordination and management of the fire ecology function within the region, including providing ecological input and other support across the planning, response and recovery phases of the fire and emergency program. You will have duties of the delivery of planning, project, financial and resource management (human resources, facilities, assets, systems and staff training and development) in accordance with Parks Victoria's policies, procedures and objectives. You may be required to work across the region based on the specific delivery of their functional responsibilities. Lead, support and coordinate a functional service in order to deliver cost effective, timely, quality and appropriate service to meet the requirements of the Regional Operations Plan. The Planning Officer (Fire Ecology and Emergency) is supported by expertise advice and planning through the Regional Fire and Emergency Program Coordinator.

To be successful for this role you need:

  • Demonstrated experience in provision on expert and technical advice and support.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in Project Management.
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Business and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is desirable.
