About the branch

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role

The Planning Officer (Marine and Environment, Land and Water) is responsible for the coordination and management of the marine and environment, land and water (ELW) functions within the region.

The position would include delivery planning, financial and limited resource management (human resources, facilities, assets, systems and staff training and development) in accordance with Parks Victoria’s policies, procedures and objectives. The position includes responsibility for coordinating a function that is adaptable, flexible and responsive to community needs and key stakeholder expectations.

To be successful in this role you will need;

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Project Management
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving
  • Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science, Business or equivalent is desirable
