An exciting ongoing opportunity exists for a Project Officer, Emergency Management in the Security Standards Unit within Corrections Victoria.

The Security and Intelligence Division sits within Corrections Victoria in the Department of Justice and Regulation. To deliver its responsibilities, the Security and Intelligence Division is divided into complementary work units, one of which is the Security Standards Unit.

The Security Standards Unit performs a number of support and compliance functions across the correctional system, including managing and reviewing the security standards and risk management. The unit identifies emerging issues, evaluates emerging technologies for use in the correctional environment, provides assistance, advice and support to Corrections Victoria, and is also responsible for leading the development and maintenance of Corrections Victoria's emergency management capability, incorporating planning and exercising.

The Security Standards Unit provides support to Youth Justice facilities in the development of emergency management programs and training, as well as providing support in the areas of risk management, security assessments and auditing.

The Project Officer, Emergency Management supports the delivery of emergency management and other unit projects. The role provides high-level administrative support to a range of operational and strategic tasks within the unit.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • an awareness of the key issues impacting Corrections Victoria, particularly Victoria's emergency management arrangements and underpinning legislation
  • excellent writing skills to be able to produce a variety of written materials such as briefings, complex correspondence and proposals.

The candidate must also have a current drivers licence.
