About the role

Rare opportunity to join ACMI as an Exhibition Designer in this full-time ongoing role. In consultation, you will be planning for temporary, permanent and touring exhibitions, including concepts, design development, specifications and documentation for build and tendering purposes, arranging quotes and procurement of approved services and project administration. You will also collaborate with stakeholders including external creatives and designers engaged for specific exhibition projects.

What you'll bring to the role

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience in Exhibition Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or allied field.
  • Proven ability in delivering high-quality exhibitions at ranging scale, including digital, interactive, and online elements – executing the project design process from conceptual visualisation through to final documentation drawings and specifications for build and quotation purposes.
  • Production of documentation for graphics delivery including an in depth understanding of print production for a wide range of graphic outputs.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard design software applications including ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, Adobe creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in design and documentation of exhibition projects (temporary and permanent) within an art gallery, museum or similar environment is highly desirable.
